FAQ

The questions I get most.

Quick answers to the things people ask before booking. Don't see what you're looking for? Send me a message.

Before your appointment

How long should my hair be for a wax?
About ¼ inch — roughly two to three weeks of growth from your last shave or wax. Too short and the wax can't grip; too long and it's more painful than it needs to be. If you're unsure, send a message and I'll help you time it.
Should I avoid anything before a face wax?
Yes — please stop using retin-A, tretinoin, adapalene, and any strong exfoliants or acne medications at least one week before your face wax. They thin the skin and significantly increase the risk of lifting and irritation. See contraindications for the full list.
Can I wax if I'm on Accutane?
No. Anyone currently on Accutane — or who has been on it in the last 6 to 12 months — cannot be safely waxed. The skin thinning from the medication makes it too risky.
I've never had a Brazilian before. What should I know?
First Brazilians can feel like a lot. You're in a private suite with one person, the door stays closed, and we go at the pace that feels right for you. You don't need to do anything special beforehand — clean skin is enough — and I'll walk you through everything as we go. No comments, no commentary, just the service you came for.
Will I be in a private room?
Yes — always. I work in a private suite at James Ashby Salon Suites in Mansfield. It's just you, me, and a closed door.

Brow services

How long does a brow stain last?
Typically 5–10 days on the skin and 4–6 weeks on the hair itself. Results vary by skin type, oiliness, and aftercare. I'll go over how to make it last at the end of your appointment.
How often should I get brow lamination?
Every 6–8 weeks. Doing it more often than that isn't good for brow health — the hair needs time to recover between treatments.
Can I get a brow stain and a brow wax in the same appointment?
Yes — that's actually one of my most popular bookings. Try the Brow Stain & Wax combo, or if you want the full reset, book Brow Stain, Lamination & Wax.
Do you offer threading?
Soon. Brow threading is being added to the menu shortly after opening. Send me a message if you'd like to be the first to know when it's bookable.

Membership & pricing

How does the $55/month membership work?
$55/month gets you one credit toward a Brazilian, full face wax, OR brow stain & wax — your choice each month. You also get 10% off any extra services, priority booking, three sharable credits per year (great for gifting a friend or family member), and an optional free birthday brow wax. Minimum 3-month commitment, then cancel anytime. Full details on the Services page.
What if I don't want a subscription?
That's why I offer Brazilian packages: 3 for $175 or 6 for $330. Pay once, no monthly commitment, no expiration. They're transferable to immediate family too.
Can I share my membership credit with someone else?
Yes — up to three times a year. It's a great way to bring a friend or family member in to try a service at member pricing.

Booking & payments

How do I book?
Tap any Book Now button on the site — it'll take you straight to GlossGenius. You can book, reschedule, or cancel directly online. You'll need to enter a card on file to confirm.
What payments do you accept?
Credit, debit, cash, and Zelle. Online deposits and card-on-file charges run through GlossGenius.
Do you accept tips?
Tips are always appreciated but never expected. If you want to add one, GlossGenius gives you a few suggested amounts at checkout — or you can leave it in person, your call.
Do you have gift cards?
Yes — digital gift cards through GlossGenius, in any amount. They don't expire.
Can I bring my kid / partner / friend to the appointment?
The suite is small and most of my services are private, so I ask that you come alone. If you need to bring someone, please let me know first so we can figure out the best plan.

After your wax

What aftercare should I do?
For the first 24 hours: no hot showers, no saunas, no gym, no sun exposure, and no harsh products on the area. I'll give you specifics for your service at checkout, including what to do if you tend toward ingrowns.
Why is my skin red right after?
Totally normal. Skin can stay pink for an hour or two — sometimes longer for face and Brazilian waxes. The Hydrogelly mask add-on calms redness significantly if you're sensitive or have something to be at right after.
